Oriva is a place to record and share your life through the places you've been. These guidelines keep it welcoming for everyone. They sit alongside our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy, which apply in full.

1. What we welcome

  • Authentic personal memories, photos and stories from your own travels and life.
  • Thoughtful, respectful profiles that other explorers enjoy discovering.
  • Sharing your world with people you choose to share it with.

2. What isn't allowed

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or hateful conduct against any person or group.
  • Content that sexualises or endangers minors. We report this to the relevant authorities.
  • Sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise adult content.
  • Content that incites violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
  • Doxxing, stalking, or sharing another person's private information without consent.
  • Spam, scams, fraud, or misleading impersonation.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other IP rights.
  • Automated scraping, bots, or attempts to bypass access controls.

3. Reporting content

If you see something that breaches these guidelines, use the "Report" action on the profile or memory. Reports are confidential, are recorded in our trust & safety records, and trigger an email notification so a person on our team can review them. Oriva does not use automated content scanning or pre-publication screening, so reporting is how content reaches us. We aim to review reports promptly and take proportionate action — removing content, restricting features, or suspending or terminating accounts as appropriate. Every moderation action is recorded in an internal audit trail.

4. Blocking

You can block any account at any time from their public profile. Blocked accounts no longer appear in Discover or in feeds you browse, and they can't see your profile through Oriva's discovery surfaces. Manage blocks under Settings → Blocked accounts.

5. Notice and action

Anyone — including non-users — can notify us of illegal content by emailing hello@deskjockeydigital.co.uk with a link, a description of why it is unlawful, and enough contact information for us to follow up. We handle notices in line with applicable law, including the EU Digital Services Act where relevant.

6. Enforcement

Depending on the seriousness of a breach, we may issue a warning, remove or restrict content, restrict account features, suspend or terminate accounts, or refer matters to law enforcement. A suspended account can still sign in and see its own content, but cannot create new memories or make anything public. Termination permanently deletes the account and its content. Repeated or severe breaches lead to permanent removal.

7. Reviewing decisions

If you believe a moderation decision about your content or account was wrong, email hello@deskjockeydigital.co.uk with the subject “Review request”, your username, and why you think it should be reconsidered. A person will look at it again; we cannot guarantee a particular outcome.

8. Updates

We may update these guidelines from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email.
