Feeding the pigs at Pig Beach 🐷

One of those completely surreal travel experiences you don’t really expect until you’re standing there. Getting into the water and feeding the famous swimming pigs at Pig Beach was every bit as fun as I’d imagined — and somehow even more ridiculous. 🐷😂 Definitely one of those travel memories I’ll never forget.

How comfortable the pigs are around people — they know exactly why you’re there. 😂
Worth knowing
Pig Beach is on Big Major Cay, an uninhabited island in the Exumas, so you’ll need to reach it by boat from one of the surrounding islands.
Don't miss
Get into the shallow water with the pigs — seeing them swimming out to meet the boats is part of the experience.
Best time
Go early in the day when there are fewer boats and the pigs are generally more active.
Watch out
The pigs are wild animals, not pets. Give them space, avoid feeding them anything other than approved food, and don’t chase or surround them in the water.
Would I go back?
It’s one of those genuinely unusual travel experiences that’s difficult to replicate anywhere else, but once is probably enough!
